COVID-19: SEN. BINOS DISTRIBUTES 1800 BAGS OF GRAINS TO CONSTITUENTS AS PALLIATIVE

As people are placed on a two-weeks lockdown in Adamawa State in a bid to curtail the spread of coronavirus, poor people in the society are the ones that are directly affected because some of them have to work for their daily needs.

It is in the line of this that Senator Binos Yaroe, the Senator Representing Adamawa Southern Senatorial Zone, distributed 1800 bags of 20kg grains to his Constituents as paliative measure to caushion the hardship caused by the pandemic.

The Senator invited nine Council Chairmen Representing the Constituency or their representatives alongside the Zonal Vice Chairman of PDP and the nine LGA Party Chairmen for the distribution.

Speaking at his residence at Mayo Belwa, the venue of the distribution, Sen. Binos said it became paramount for him to distribute the grains as part of palliative to his people.

He said that the lockdown which was borne out of the government’s desire to contain the spread of Coronavirus has brought unnecessary hardship to people at the grassroots.

“Various governments have taken various actions to contain the virus, one major step is to ask people to stay at home and because of that there are people that are suffering” he said.

Sen. Binos revealed that though the palliative won’t be able to go round everyone in the constituency, it will at least be beneficial to the poor and vulnerable in the society.

Furthermore, he revealed that he invited LGC boss’s under his constituency to aid in distributing the palliative because they are closer to the people and have engaged in distributing the palliatives by the state government.

The Royal Fathers were also not left behind, with the zone having 6 First Class Chiefs; the Senator extended same gesture to them to aid them in helping their subjects.

While thanking them for obeying the Stay at home order, the Federal Lawmaker urged them to strictly observe the hygienic tips of washing hands, distancing and avoiding large crowds.

In a vote of thanks, the Chairman Jada Local Government Area Hon. Abdulkareem Bakala appreciated the Lawmaker for providing palliative for the people.

He said that the palliative is going to compliment the palliative measures by the state government.

Bakala assures that the relief materials will be judiciously distributed to the poorest and vulnerable in the society.

Also speaking, Toungo Local Government Voss Hon. Kefas Calvin appreciated Senator Binos for providing the palliative.
