Chairmen and Members of the Adamawa State House of Assembly Service Commission and the Governing Board of Adamawa State University Mubi have been inaugurated with a call on them to discharge their duties diligently.
The inauguration ceremony which took place at the Conference Hall Government House Yola was well attended by friends, families and well wishers.
Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has during the inauguration ceremony said that both the chairmen and members were carefully and painstakingly selected based on merit and recommendations.
He said “the calibre of people we have today is a clear indication to everyone that we are ready to make education the number one priority in this state”
“I have confidence on them, I believe in them that they will work for the betterment of this state. We have no other place like Adamawa and we must make her work, particularly the education sector” he mentioned.
Furthermore, while counting on them to work towards repositioning the state in their fields, he urged them to justify the confidence reposed on them by his administration.
Gov. Fintiri then urged them to cooperate with the existing leadership of the university, for a better working relationship.
“ADSU is the first university among the state universities in the entire Northeast region but today, it is lagging behind because we don’t give positions to the right people” he lamented.
“I believe in the next 4 years, we will a lot of achievements to count and I hope you will be able to cooperate with the existing leadership in the university so that together we will move Adamawa forward and also make the university number one in northern Nigeria and possibly in Nigeria” he added.
In his response on behalf of the newly constituted board and commission, Dr. Auwwal Tukur appreciated the Governor for finding them worthy and promised to work hard for the betterment of the state.
He used the medium to applaud the giant strides of the Fintiri’s led administration, especially in the are of education which he described as a the bedrock of any society.
He Promised that they will contribute their quota to revamping the education sector “we as the governing council have a very huge task and we promise to give in our best”
“Your Excellency, you have said and demonstrated that education is and remains one of your cardinal point, we promised never to let you down” he added.
The oath of office was administered by the State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice Barr. Afraimu K. Jingi.
Those inaugurated are Abubakar Abdullahi as Chairman, while Bello Pur, Vidiyeno Bamaiyi, Zainab Ngila and Mohammed Shehu as members Adamawa State House of Assembly Service Commission.
Others are Auwwal Tukur as Chairman, while Zira Maigadi, Mrs. Mary Sawa, Alkasim Njidda, representatives of Ministry of Justice and Higher Education as members Adamawa State University Mubi.
