EID-EL-MAULUD: Adamawa Gov’t to lift 38,000 Almajiri’s off the street

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri Sunday joined hundreds of Muslims in Daware Fufore local government to commemorate 2019 Edl-El-Maulud celebration.

The Governor was accompanied to the ceremony by Secretary to the State Government SSG Alhaji Bashir Ahmad and Professor Liman Tukur Vice Chancellor Modibbo Adama University of Technology MAUTECH Yola among other senior government officials.

Speaking during the closing ceremony of the event, Governor Umaru Fintiri stressed the readiness of his administration to pool out 38,000 Almajiri’s from the street to educate them freely.

He said so far the present administration has performed creditably well in the area of education in addition it has tackled the bottleneck in the local governments by granting them financial autonomy.

According the Governor, the present administration will not rest on its oars in terms of delivering good governance to the masses to justify the confidence reposed on the government.

Governor Umaru Fintiri declared that his administration will not condone corruption of whatever kind and he will continue to be just and fair to all manner of people in the state.

He called on the participants to used the knowledge acquired during the celebration for spiritual benefits and extend same to others in the society for positive development of all.

He sought from the faithfuls prayers and support to enable his administration to continue in the provision of good governance to the people of Adamawa.

In his remark, the host of the ceremony, Sheikh Modibbo Ibrahim Abubakar Daware enjoined people to use the teachings of Islam in all their dealings and unite live for peace and prosperity

Sheikh Daware called for understanding among the less privilege, the well to do in the society, religious leaders and government for the benefit of the society.

He commended the giant strides so far achieved by Governor Umaru Fintiri in his administration and prayed for guidance to him by Allah for Adamawa to forge ahead.

He equally advised the citizenry to not to disturb political leaders with frequent unnecessary requests but allow them to face governance for the overall interest of Adamawa.

Among dignitaries present at the ceremony include the District Heads of Daware and Ganye Alhaji Hassan Yarima Jafaru and Alhaji Aminu Adamu Sanda.

Others were the District Heads of Belel and Dasheng Alhaji Abubakar Dan Lawal Mubi and Alhaji Ahmadu Baba Ganso who is the Wamban Ganye among other prominent Islamic scholars from within and outside the country.
